Now the Wall Street Journal picks up the theme. Words are nice. But if you can't control the vitriol coming from the Tea Party wing and actually work with Dems on immigration reform, you're not going to reverse the damage. In short, conservative Hispanics still perceive the GOP as anti-them. And PR campaigns aren't going to fix that problem. But promoting pro-immigration candidates, as some groups mentioned in the article are doing, is a hopeful sign.

Hi All,
I am applying my Labor on EB2 tomorrow (07/26/2007). Is there any glim chacne for me to get the approval before 08/14/2007? I am going through Atlanta. Please let me know how long is the average time to get the cetification from atlanta center. (One of my friend applied on 07/17/07 and got the LC on 07/23/07 from atlanta center).

You could take a look at Track it. It will give you an idea of Atlanta backlogs . You could have a very good chance at Chicago though . Your friend was one in a million lucky and you could be one too .

Primary applicant is on EAD, how much min amount primary applicant has to show on W-2s?
question related to Dependent RFE:
Please submit evidence to prove legal immigration status in the USA from Jul 01, 2003 to Jul 29, 2004(I485 Receipt Date).
As dependent I came to US on H4 in 2001 and applied for H1 and approved in Jan 2002 (approved from Jan'2002 to Feb'2004).
Then don't know lawyer applied for my H4 extension along with my spouse's H1 extension. But they sent my passport for H4 stamping (stamped from Dec 2003 to Dec 2005). ie. I have 2 statuses at the same time and also here note that during december I was working. One more thing here my lawyer applied for my H1 renewal and got extension from Feb 2004 to Dec 2006.
Which extension papers(H1 or H4 attached with I94), should the dependent need to send to show legal immigrant status for the above query?really scared situation.
Please give your valuable suggestions.

You are only counted against the quota once for a 6 year period , so I believe, she won't come under the quota , although it's getting harder to get H1B extensions every day

There is a mistake in my 485 cover letter. The letter states that I am EB3 but actually I am EB2.
Will this cause any problem? Will USCIS deny my case? Please note we included I-140 approval form in the file.

Your cover Letter is not a USCIS document. As long as the actual application forms and supporting documents are good you should have nothing to fear.

From the Houston Chronicle: More Texas voters think unauthorized immigrants should be allowed to stay in the United States � through either a path to citizenship or work visas � than favor deporting them, according to a new Houston Chronicle/San Antonio Express-News poll. The poll showed that 38 percent of respondents favoring deportation � drawing the most support of the three options offered. I am in an interesting situation, my 485 is pending (PD June 22, 2006) and wondering if I should accept a position offered by my original GC employer, special when my PD is so close ( May take another 6-8 month).
I was part of company lets say X, a join venture between A&B. X applied for my GC 140 and 485 when I was with them. Then that company was split and 10% employee went to A and other 90% to B. I was part of 10% that went to A and did AC21 to port my case. It was considered as new company. Now my Old manager who moved to company B is offering a Job with significant promotion. Since X was technical acquired by B and X was my original employer, is it a win win situation to move or I stay put and wait for PD to become current before moving? job profile is goign to be same.

These numbers include Family Based and as per my understanding 90 % of the applications are FB based.
For us who are EB based, the EB backlog should be more realistic and I am not sure how do we get them!

Sorry for the cross posting.
My papers were sent on June 21st, but they were receipted only on June 27th. Turns out USCIS returned my $1000 for premium processing :(.
My lawyer said they talked to USCIS and USCIS asked them to re-file with proof of receipt.
Did anyone who filed in end June have their 140 premium processing returned?

Below is my current GC & H1-B status
1. Have an approved I-140 with my current employer. Waiting to file I-485.
2. Pending H1-B extension petition based on approved I-140
I'm looking to move from engineering to marketing with the same employer. I know I have to refile labor and I-140 and claim the PD based on the already approved I-140. Can I move to marketing from engineering? The job responsibilities are totally different and my current H1-B extension petition is for engineering position only. I need to file for a H1-B amendment based on the new marketing position.
Will i be able to move smoothly within my current company. If not what will be some roadblocks? Any advice or insights is highly appreciated

NVC got my documents for 1 month
I am considering to email the NVC to check on the status of my case.
