America does not need to do anything to get more workers. People will keep coming and it will always be a positive flow of good talent into America. The only Indians (and others) who might tell you that they do not want to come to the USA and the American dream is gone, etc., are talking bull and they know it. They will jump on a plane "the next minute" and come if the could. It's the same thing always: Go back Yankeee.................................and take me with you."

Vivek I do not fully agree with you. I do agree that first timers are eager to come to America but once the game gets exposed they will have second thoughts. Why there are no takers for german green card? Or why do people apply for HSMP in more numbers than any other european country. Because atleast on the face of it, that promises a long term path. How many people will want to jump on the plane if America says there will be no green cards, how many people will be attracted to it? America wants to have it both ways, they want people here but do not want to give GCs either.
I graduated from a good college in India. My classmates are divided 50-50 in US and India. The people who are putting up here either did very well and were toppers or failures. All others stayed in India and they will come here only if there is a long term benefit to come here.

The last couple of VBs have brought out the worst amongst us, so much for together we stand, after reading the posts, it was more like 'you stand while i climb over you' :)

I can't believe this is how it feels to be sooo close to achieving your dream - regardless of how hard we've had to fight.....
Congratulations to each and everyone of you in EB2-India and China that have been pushing and clawing your way (just like I have) to get your greencards. While my PD is a month away - I am so glad for you. Get ready to go on a loooooong break (mentally, emotionally, and physically if possible as well).
I have been saving up every penny of my disposable income (after the shopping and eating out and everything else!) to go do the things I've wanted:
Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
Spend 3 months with my family in India and Dubai
Go back to Culinary School
Go to Bordeaux and learn about wine
Become an amazing photographer (just like one of the members on this forum...)
The list goes on and on....
But most of all - I can't believe that the moment is here for almost ALL of us to be free of the shackles and really really live our lives. I'm proud to have participated in everything and hopefully we ALL worked to make this huge of a difference and will see this effort through to help all our colleagues stuck in the EB3-India and China mess....

I studied in IIT (B.Tech), got M.S. and Ph.D. from here and now a professor. My observations/opinions are as follows:

I have the misfortune of teaching 100's of students who come here with an Anna University (or Osmania) B.Tech./B.E. degree in engineering, and knows absolutely nothing. And I am not exaggerating: they cannot write an elementary program in any language (apparently they learn something called "theoretical" computer programming in which they do not actually learn to program); does not know any mathematics (most cannot integrate x*exp(x); one student could not tell me what is f(0.7) by looking at a graph of x vs. f(x)) and cannot operate simple lab equipments. It is just unbelievable! Anyway, moving on.
I am not sure why people jump onto drawing conclusions so fast...look at the above post from a so called professor....he encountered a couple of a folks from some universities & concludes that those universities are just crappy....!! Many of my colleagues are from the professors' "oh-so-good" list of IITs/univs and they are no better!! (In fact, some of them suck so bad)!!
raysaikat - Do you really think any student from the above crappy-univs could not tell what is f(0.7) by looking at the graph?? Do you really think those univs (anna/osm...) are so bad? Now another question for you prof....how come are you working in a university that's giving admissions to such a bunch of crappy folks...!!?? Given this fact, can we also safely assume that the university you are teaching-in is a Crappy one, which could only attract the bottom pile from your above list of crappy-universities??

Just as you took initiative to post this message...Start a Poll of who are willing to Join you with this initiative--Of Donating to IV,with this one-point agenda.
Once you have 5-10 people behind you and you look serious enough, IV can guide you with your initiative. As you might know already that there are no full-time employees in IV to pickup requests.
I totally understand that you would want to "part" with money only with some kind of promise. That's totally normal. But, just to get your 'Donation', IV or any member will/can not make any false promises.
After I-140 approval if we are allowed to file 485 that will give us big relief, Willing to contribute big time if IV can make this part of its agenda

9years: So finally did you have to send the interfiling request, or they approved it automatically.
- My EB2 140 got approved 2 weeks ago (with July 03 PD), but still no LUD on my 485.
- I placed a Service Request last week on my pending 485, which resulted in a soft LUD on my EB2 140 but nothing on 485.
I just wanted to know if you also had to send the interfiling request just like VayuMahesh.

its generally the case, where these loan officers doesn't understand the Immigration process.
I also had to go thru it. I would suggest to give them a copy of I-140 approval. that is an approved doc, than a pending I-485.
Good part is, the Underwriters generally know about the immigration process and would take 1-140 approval doc as a valid doc.
Dont worry, your loan will be approved.
Dont worry. I mortgaged through BOA and everything went well with my AOS and I am closing next week.
